To provide a pharmacy service to the wards and departments within Trust whilst working alongside other pharmacists, technicians and assistants. The post is rotational within Pharmacy. Clinical rotations include (but are not limited to) acute medicine, admissions, cardiology, surgery, and critical care (level 2 and level 3). In addition, the post holder will gain experience in taking on additional areas of responsibility including anticoagulation, Aseptics, governance and risk, research and audit, and antimicrobials. The post holder will liaise between wards, departments and pharmacy to ensure that pharmacy services are tailored to meet the Trust’s and patients’ needs.

Work with Lead Antimicrobial Pharmacist to review antimicrobial policies and protocols to ensure they reflect current and evidence-based practice and are governed by local resistance information.

Be a Practice Supervisor (PS) or an Educational Supervisor (ES) for Foundation Pharmacists undertaking the Postgraduate Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice.
Be a PS for pre-registration trainee pharmacists and, if appropriate, to be an ES.
Undertake Supervised Learning Events (SLEs) and ward assessments with Foundation Pharmacists.
Participate in the education and training of pharmacy staff, other healthcare professionals and pharmacy students to graduate level.
Supervise the day to day working of Foundation Pharmacists and Pre-Registration Pharmacists
Maintain an active portfolio of continuing professional development (CPD)
Participate in departmental CPD educational sessions
