Band 7 Occupational Therapist Contract/Temporary

We are currently looking to recruit Band 7 Occupational Therapists who are compassionate, caring and can prioritise the needs of the clients.

Shift Schedule:

An Occupational Therapist in this role will be required to work full time for a total of 37.5 hours per week. Typical hours worked are 09:00–17:00.

As a Locum role the post would be until the end of March, and it is likely this would be extended while a replacement is recruited.

Occupational Therapist Job Description:

We require an Occupational Therapists with previous experience working in mental health settings to work at a mental health clinic. The post is to work across two adult in-patient wards covering the south sector of Newham. The two wards would consist of one male and one female ward.

The role would be supported by two Occupational Therapist Technicians as well as an in-patient OT lead. The role would primarily focus on OT assessments and some group work. There may also be the need to carry out occasional home visits.

There is an established OT team working at the Centre including two band 5 OTs covering two acute wards, a band 6 OT covering two triage wards, an in-patient lead OT, Deputy lead OT and Lead OT as well as four OTT posts. We also have an established community OT team working across our community mental health recovery teams, primary care networks and home treatment team. There would be access to monthly OT business and educational meetings as well as reflective practice.

Occupational Therapist’s must have:

• HCPC registration with a license to practice
• Minimum of 6 months NHS experience
• Recognised qualifications
• Have right to work in UK
• A current DBS on the update service
• Full flu/COVID Vaccinations*

*As per government guidelines, Occupational Therapist’s must have proof of their first jab by 1st February 2022 and be fully vaccinated by 1st April 2022.
